Anxiety & EMDR therapy for women in Texas & Colorado

Anxiety & EMDR therapy for women in Texas & Colorado

You’re tired of “intellectually knowing” what’s wrong but still feeling stuck.

You can explain exactly why you're anxious, you've done years of therapy, you know all the tools - but you're still caught in the same exhausting cycles of overthinking, people-pleasing, and anxiety that feels more debilitating than ever. You're smart enough to know there's probably something deeper going on here, but every approach so far has just skimmed the surface.

What most therapy misses is that your high-functioning anxiety isn't really about managing stress - it's about old patterns of survival that are now holding you back.

Those perfectionist tendencies? The need for control in every situation? The shame around having emotions, or feeling like you can’t rest because you haven’t done “enough”? These aren't character flaws - they're adaptive strategies that once kept you safe, but now keep you trapped. Your nervous system is still braced for the other shoe to drop, even when logically you know you're okay.

This isn't therapy where I sit there nodding and validating while you figure it out on your own.

You've already done that - for years. This is direct, no-BS EMDR work that gets to the actual root of why your nervous system is still stuck in overdrive and how to change it. I'll challenge you (with care) when you're caught up in the same old patterns, celebrate when you finally set that boundary, and help you understand why your body still feels like it's waiting for disaster even when life is good. Because you're capable as hell - you just need someone who won't let you stay comfortable in the familiar discomfort.

Anxiety therapist Austin

Meet Lisa Osborn, LCSW

Hi, I'm Lisa! I'm a trauma-informed therapist who specializes in EMDR therapy for high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing in millennial women, especially those who are childfree (by choice or not). I have extensive training in EMDR therapy and intensives, with over 16 years experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and Colorado.

As a recovering anxious perfectionist myself, I understand what it takes to do this work. I founded Real Well Therapy to promote an authentic, human-to-human kind of vibe in session - no weird, condescending therapist voice, no endless nodding. We'll blend EMDR therapy with somatic therapy and parts work to break patterns and support your nervous system, but also keep it real (and fun!) along the way. Because not being perfect and being authentic... that's kind of the whole point of breaking this perfectionist pattern anyway, right?

What We Can Work On Together

Some of the struggles I love to support clients with include:

  • High-functioning anxiety that's getting harder to hide - panic attacks, physical symptoms, and feeling constantly overwhelmed and like you're on edge

  • Overthinking and overachieving everything until you're exhausted - time to slow the 'ef down and trust yourself to handle whatever comes up and that what you're doing is enough

  • Perfectionism and people pleasing that has you performing and making everyone else comfortable at your expense

  • Imposter syndrome and feeling like a fraud despite all your accomplishments, and constantly questioning if you're worthy or if you belong

  • Work stress and burnout from being the one who always takes care of everything and gets sh*t done, even if you're barely holding it together

  • Trauma that still shows up as hypervigilance, trouble relaxing, and feeling unsafe even when everything's fine

  • Sleep issues, irritability, and physical symptoms from anxiety that your body can't shake, no matter how much you intellectually understand what's happening

  • Social anxiety that has you replaying every conversation and wondering if you said the wrong thing, or avoiding situations where you’ll feel on the spot

  • Shame around having emotions and feeling like you should be able to handle everything on your own by now or not need anyone

  • Being childfree in a world that constantly questions your choice, even if it's not a choice you've consciously made—this is a space where you don't have to justify anything, just explore what feels good to you

If you're reading this thinking, "Finally, someone who gets it"—you're in the right place.

Ready to do the work, and make it stick this time?

Here's what makes my work with clients different to support lasting healing from trauma.

  • Evidence-Based Practices for Trauma Recovery

With 16 years of experience and extensive training in EMDR, somatic therapy, and parts work, I bring a deep understanding of what works, what doesn't, and how to guide you through deep healing safely. And I respect that you are the expert on what you need; my role is to support you in finding that wisdom.

  • Healing at Your Pace

I offer weekly and biweekly appointments for clients seeking consistency and ongoing support, but if you're someone who wants to prioritize healing in a shorter time frame, I offer EMDR intensives that let you dive deep and make real progress quickly.

  • Human-First Approach

I fully believe that I am not here to "fix" you and that our relationship can become the turning point of healing from perfectionism and people pleasing. Learn to show up as your real self with a fellow human who is prepared to sit with you in all of life's messy, weird, funny moments–and discover what you really need to bring that authenticity elsewhere.

  • In-Person & Virtual Availability

We can meet in my Austin office for that in-person connection, or work together virtually if you're anywhere in Texas or Colorado. I'm ready to meet you where you are and where you feel most comfortable to do this work.

Ready to do this thing? Here's how we get started.

 Step 1: Start Here

Schedule a free consultation call - I'll guide you through next steps and we'll see if we're a good fit to do this work together.

Step 2: Do the Work

We'll meet weekly, biweekly, or through intensives depending on your goals. No more staying stuck in the same patterns - we're here to actually change them.

Step 3: Live Your Life

Stop managing your anxiety and start enjoying what you've worked so hard to build. You'll finally feel like yourself again - but better.

Therapy won't make everything perfect. But it will help you finally accept that it doesn't need to be.

It can help you find joy, light, and connection, even with anxiety present.

Let go of needing to control every outcome and make room for the unknowns.

Stop feeling overwhelmed all the time because you're communicating your needs more.

And finally start living the life you actually want, not what those impossible "shoulds" have held you to forever.

you don’t have to have it figured out.

You just have to start.
